Before you begin
Open the Claude desktop app on your work computer and select the Donor Nexus organization. You’ll use your own Claude account.
- Your personal Skippy username and password arrive separately through a secure link.
- The Skippy connector gives Claude access to shared donor information. The Skippy plugin adds the team’s skills. Set up both below.
Get your Skippy login
Open the secure link you received and save your Skippy username and password in your password manager.
If you have not received a login, ask Lucy, Kara or Patrick to help arrange access.
Connect Skippy to Claude
- Open Customize → Connectors.
- Find Skippy and choose Connect.
- In the Skippy sign-in window, enter your Skippy username and password. Complete the authorization prompts.
If Skippy isn’t listed, ask an organization admin to check its availability. There’s no need to create a second connector if one already exists.
Connector address, if an admin needs it
Use this address in the connector settings:
https://16-146-193-89.sslip.io/mcpInstall the Donor Nexus skills
- Open Customize → Plugins and browse the available plugins.
- Find skippy in your organization’s library or Donor Nexus marketplace, then choose Install.
- If it is already installed, open its details and check for an update. Note the installed version.
- Start a new task so you are using the current skills. If your app has a separate Cowork tab, use it for document tasks.
Run the connection check
Make sure Skippy is enabled in the task’s connector controls. Then paste this into the new task:
Approve the read-only check if prompted. Look for a successful connection result and the installed plugin version. You should not need a donor number or create any records to do this check.
If it fails, keep the exact error and use the help checklist below. A successful check confirms your Skippy connection; a paperwork task also needs the applications listed next.
Before your first paperwork task
Use your own approved work accounts for the applications the skill needs. Connecting Skippy does not sign you into those applications.
| Application | What to check |
|---|---|
| Box | You can open the actual Word/PDF templates and save the finished files. Searching filenames or reading extracted text alone may not be enough. |
| DocuSign | Your usual work account is connected and can prepare the required draft envelope. |
| Monday & HubSpot | The required boards, case records and deals are accessible from your task. |
| Slack | Your approved connection can reach the intended staff conversation when the workflow includes a message. |
If your existing paperwork setup uses Box Drive, use the app’s folder picker to make the needed work folders available to the task. If access is blocked, share the error before changing computer settings.
If something gets stuck
Skippy is connected, but a skill is missing
The connector and plugin are separate. Check that the skippy plugin is installed, then start a new task. Send the installed version if the skill is still missing.
Claude can find a Box file but cannot make the paperwork
It may lack access to the real template or a way to save the output. Use the approved file-access method for your work setup. Don’t rebuild document masters from extracted text. Report the exact blocked step.
Claude asks to connect another application
Connect your own approved work account for that application. If you do not normally have access, ask your administrator. A Skippy login does not replace those permissions.
The app’s menus look different
Claude’s layout can vary by account and version. Look for Customize, Connectors and Plugins. If you are stuck, share a screenshot with passwords and sensitive information hidden.
Ready for your first task
This checklist stays on this page only. It is not submitted or saved.
